The tray area is not temperature regulated, but it is insulated, and melting ice is naturally replaced with new ice. Since my husband and I were buying massive quantities of ice and storing them in coolers due to a broken freezer ice maker and lack of storage space, our purchase of this machine has been a game-changer. No more unsightly coolers cluttering up our living space, and we've saved money and spared our backs in the process. We are extremely satisfied with this acquisition!

We used this ice maker for 2 months, didn't use it for four months, and then realized the Freon had leaked out. What a waste of money! And of course, it was out of the one-year warranty.

Break up the ice or the sensor may assume the tray is full when it's only half filled. The machine had a 1-year warranty and lasted 2 years. Kinda bummed. It should have lasted longer.
